Today we are taking a look at the SoniCare HealthyWhite, it’s a more affordable option when you compare it to some of the others in the Philip’s range, but it is still one of the best electric toothbrushes out there. It has recently won a Good Housekeeping Institute Award confirming that if you want a brush which offers excellent value then this might be the choice for you, another major plus point; Amazon UK have this toothbrush available with a 50% discount!
The SoniCare range provides a dependable, high level of sonic cleaning by gently pushing the fluid in your mouth between teeth, dentists refer to this as interdental cleaning, it removes plaque and bacteria which build-up between teeth leaving your mouth feeling really fresh. Combine this with the 31,000 strokes per minute and it produces a great overall effect, first gently breaking down and then sweeping away plaque.
The SoniCare HealthyWhite is proven to give you whiter, brighter teeth in just 14 days, this means after using the brush just 28 times you should notice a clear difference, if you want to make sure this is true you can always pick up a white chart, comparing your teeth every few days a recording the differences in colour shades.
The brush contains a couple of great safety features, it is of course fully splash proof which makes it ideal if you decide to store and charge it in your bathroom. You can also make use of the Smart timer, a feature which ensures you brush for the correct amount of time during every single use. The quadpacer, which is part of the timer, counts down thirty seconds at a time for a total of tow minutes, this allows you to ensure your teeth are equally cleaned in all four sections of your mouth.
Talking of cleaning you have two options when it comes to brushing modes;
Clean – You could call this the standard mode, it provides a deep sonic clean and effectively reaches deeper between teeth to better remove build-up which can cause dental problems.
Clean & White – Designed to better polish teeth, especially useful if you enjoy certain food and drink or if you smoke.
So, what do you get for your money when to buy this electric toothbrush, when you open up the packaging you'll see it includes:
1x SoniCare HX6711 Handle
1 x ProResults standard brush head
1 x Charger
The ProResults brush head which comes as a starter brush features ultra soft bristles, and an ultra slim neck which allows it to reach areas of your mouth which would be much more difficult with a manual toothbrush. The push on connector is really easy to use and you can swap heads without any hassle at all, great if you share it with other members of your family. The charger is nice and compact when you compare it the larger base units included with the DiamondClean, but the charger is less important because amazingly the battery life is an impressive 3 weeks, this is based on using it twice each day for two minutes.
Making sure you follow dentist's advice to brush for the full two minutes is important and the smart timer makes this really easy. Turning it on begins the countdown, every 30 seconds the brush alerts you to indicate it's time to move to another section of your mouth. By doing this you evenly clean your whole mouth. Using the timer in combination with one of the selection of compatible brush heads you'll see a major difference between this and your manual brush.
Overall we love all the great features included for such an affordable price and the 50% discount just makes this even better, the outstanding battery power offered by the majority of the SoniCare range is one of it's best features and if your looking for a rechargeable toothbrush which will give you a really deep clean then you really should consider this as a great option.
If you would prefer to find a more customisable model you might want to consider moving up to the FlexCare Platinum, it includes the added safety of a pressure sensor and the option of a UV sanitiser to completely remove bacteria and germs from your brush heads when they are not in use.
